Militia Rolls of Upper Canada Roll of Captain John Stegman's Company April 1, 1790
Copy of Original Record Provided By The National Archives of Canada
Transcribed by Rick Roberts & Fawne Stratford Devai

We are grateful to the National Archives of Canada for providing copies of the original lists. N.A.C Reference: M.G. 19 F 35. Series 2, Lot 679, Pages 9 -11

The following listing of militia officers and enlisted men is a transcription of the original Roll of Captain John Stegman's Company company of Militia of the Battalion of Cornwall and Osnaburg District of Lunenburg, April 1, 1790. The original is on file at the National Archives of Canada. N.A.C Reference: M.G. 19 F 35 Series 2, Lot 679, Pages 9 -11. This Muster Roll only recently came into the custody of the NAC and is scheduled to be microfilmed sometime in the late spring or summer of 1998. Reference photo-copies have been taken and are on file at the NAC.

Legend:
First number on the left side of the page denotes age
Then follows rank and name
Then Regiment

The series of five numbers at the end of each line indicate the following:

First number indicates if they were married,
Second number indicates if they were single
Third number indicates if they were absent during roll taking
Fouth number indicates if they were infirm
Last number indicates "Fusils"
("1" means yes, "0" means it was left blank.)

The hand writing was very difficult to transcribe so be wary of potential transcription errors.
