St Fillans' Cemetery is located on property originallly owned by the Cram family (Concession 10, Lot 20, Beckwith Township). Peter Cram and family came from Comrie, Perthshire, Scotland in 1820 and settled on farms in Beckwith Township. The family established a cemetery on the farm property about 1824. The cemetery was referred to as "The Cram Cemetery" for many years. The United Cemetery Board took over the cemetery responsibilities in 1927, later adding two adjoining cemeteries, Pinegrove Cemetery and Maplewood Cemetery. All three are now known collectively as Beckwith United Cemeteries. This book (Vol. 1 St Fillans' Cemetery) includes transcriptions of the surviving memorial stones that were erected prior to September 1985. This publication has value to researchers because it contains transcriptions from decades ago... some stones may no longer exist nor be as easily read today. Transcriptions of memorial stones erected since September 1985 do not appear in this book Those persons who participated in the recording, proofreading, typing and mapping were: Dolly Allen, John Carruthers, Ken Collins, Eulalie Cox, Jim Cox, Katherine Ferguson, Diana Hall, Norah LaRocque, Betty Mitchell, Dorothy Olmstead, Gordon Olmstead, Darell Small, Fern Small, all volunteers from the Ottawa Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society Contents include:
