This cemetery is located on the south side of the Castor River, about one mile east of the Village of Russell. It is a relatively small cemetery with only 82 tombstones. However, the type of information therein is varied and interesting.

The cemetery is very well maintained and the records indicate that it was in Use as early as 1847, when Charles DUNCAN died at the age of 83 (stone no. 59). The cemetery was well established in the 1880's as shown by the large number of deaths during that decade.

The earliest birth dates as indicated by the inscriptions are Charles DUNCAN, who was born in 1764 (stone 59); Thomas MORROW and his wife, Letitia GIBSON, who were born in 1795 and 1796 respectively, and both were in their 80's.

The majority of the emigrants came from the Counties of Cavan, Tyrone and Donegal in Ireland.

The frequency of names which was obtained from the index of names in the cemetery shows LOUCKS with a majority of 39 names, followed by MORROW with 19, and HAY with 16.
