This book includes transcriptions of Marriage Records performed between 1831 and 1842. The information was taken from early marriage records of the Johnstown District that were held in the County Clerk's Office at the Court House in Brockville, Ontario during 1970. Copied in August 1970 and presented to the Grenville County Historical Society by Mrs. Ruth J. Wells of Cincinatti, Ohio. With permission, these transcriptions were copied for the Ottawa Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society by Alice Hughes, July 1973 which published as Publication 74-13 in 1974.

Each entry includes
  • Date of marriage
  • Name of bride
  • Place of residence of bride at date of marriage
  • Name of groom
  • Place of residence of groom at date of marriage
  • Whether by Banns or Marriage License
  • Name of witness for the bride
  • Name of witness for the groom
  • Many instances of the name of the clergyman who presided
  • Many instances of the name of the place where the marriage was performed

  • Transciptions of 1831-1842 marriages transcribed from records that were held in the County Clerk's office in Brockville in 1970
