This book includes includes information for those people who were in the Township of Fitzroy, during the 1861 Census of Carleton County, Canada West (Ontario).

Fitzroy Township has 12 concessions which run south/north. Concession 1 is in the west adjacent to Renfrew County and Concession 12 to the east abutting Torbolton Township. Lots in each concession start at 1 at the boundary of Huntley Township. Lots run north to about lot 27 at the Ottawa River. There are about six lettered lots along the Ottawa River. Fitzroy Township is divided into five enumeration districts.

The information is organized as originally recorded by enumeration district. A complete Index is provided in the book so individuals can be quickly and easily found.
