The church has been variably known over the last 190+ years as: "Lochiel Church of Scotland"; "Old Kirk"; "St. Columba Church of Scotland"; and "St. Columba Presbyterian Church". All are one and the same. This book is a faithful transcription of baptisms and marriages that were recorded in the original church registers. Of special interest to family historians is that in addition to the the date of baptism, the baptism records also include the date of birth of the child, the full names of the parents (including maiden names of mothers), and the parents' address (most). Oddly, some baptism records that include a date of birth sometimes were recorded without a baptism date. Marriage entries include the names of the groom and bride, date of marriage, whether by licence or proclomation, and where each is from. A few of the entries include the occupation of the groom. 202 Pages 8.5 X 11" Index Softcover - coil bound Originally published by MacDonald Research Centre, Brockville, 1987 This edition Published by MacDonald Research*., Milton, 2013 *MacDonald Research is an imprint of GlobalGenealogy.com Inc. ISBN 978-1-926797-69-4 (softcover) NOTE about print quality: GlobalGenealogy.com acquired MacDonald Research Centre after the passing of its founder and primary transcriber/compiler, Duncan MacDonald. We are pleased to make his books available under the new MacDonald Research imprint. Each book has been reprinted as it was prepared by Mr. MacDonald, without corrections or additions. Modern technology helped us reproduce the original work in as-good-as, or better quality as that which was originally published. Much of MacDonald's original work was created on a typewriter. His well-worn "masters" were made on a photocopier. We've cleaned them up as much as possible without re-keying all of the content resulting in books that are useful and complete, but of a print quality that reflects the technology of the time in which they were orignally published.
