Want To Host an American Genealogy TV Show?
Article posted: 13 April, 2006
By: Rick Roberts, Global Genealogy & History Shoppe

The following announcement is soliciting applications from those qualified applicants who want to be a television host for a program being developed by Stephen Marlin, Executive Producer, Los Angeles, California. Posting of this appeal does not imply endorsement of the program by The Global Gazette nor GlobalGenealogy.com Inc. GlobalGenealogy.com Inc. has no affiliation with the show.

Here is the message from Stephen Marlin:
I am in the process of developing a television show for a possible series on a major cable network. This is a project that is in the very early stages of development. And part of that early stage of development is finding an expert in modern day genealogy that brings a unique sense of passion to his or her work. In developing this program, I am hoping to combine all the tools in a genealogist's arsenal including the use of DNA to determine a person's ancestral origin. This is a remarkable breakthrough in genealogy, as I am sure you know, and I want to make it a big part of this series.

The host I am looking for is an "undiscovered" talent and can be either male or female. They should be passionate, inquisitive, and extremely knowledgeable about all areas of modern day Genealogy, and if they have an expertise in History or Sociology or Biology, etc... even better. Experience as a public speaker is also very important since this person will have to be in front of the camera. In addition, this person should love to travel since traveling will be necessary. Ideally, a topnotch university professor who has authored books would be great! I envision someone like Josh Bernstein who hosts a great series on the History Channel called Digging For The Truth. He is young, attractive, and very enthusiastic about the subject matter. Although, as I mentioned above, the person I am seeking can be either male or female; they just have to love helping people discover the mystery behind their family history and be great on TV.

Anyone interested should send me a bio, a picture, and some video tape of themselves. I realize not everyone has video tape of themselves doing their thing, but video is quite important since the project I am developing is for television. I am afraid I cannot return any material sent to me. I am not including my telephone number since I do not want to receive any telephone calls. I am an independent TV Producer hoping to get his project off the ground and on the air.

All submissions should be sent to:
