A Useful Genealogy Workshop,
Kent County Ontario
By: Ryan Taylor,
Biography and Archived Articles
News of the acquisition of the Hawke papers by the Archives of Ontario last year interested many genealogists. We all want to know more about them.
Kent County Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society is hosting a workshop on 13 April to teach how to use the Hawke papers, presented by Fawne Stratford-Devai. Fawne is one of the hottest young lecturers on Ontario's genealogical circuit, so Kent is pleased to be able to show her off. She will also be talking about the provinces land registry offices and using maps in family history.
The workshop will be held at the WISH Centre in Chatham and the cost is $20, which includes lunch. For a registration brochure write to the branch at Box 964, Chatham ON N7M 5L3. The branch's e-mail is KentOGS@eudoramail.com. They don't have a phone but their website with a copy of the workshop brochure is at www.angelfire.com/on/kentogs/Fawne.jpg. You must register by 1 April to guarantee lunch.
