Ontario Genealogical Society Certificate Design Competition Updated: 01 February 2010 By: Rick Roberts, Biography & Archived Articles
$500.00 prize for winning designsThe Ontario Genealogical Society (OGS) founded a Heritage Society program in 2009. Ontarians whose ancestors were a part of chosen historic events, can submit an application to the Ontario Genealogical Society for a formal certificate of recognition. The first two Heritage Societies that were established are the War of 1812 Society and the Centenary Club. Two additional Heritage Societies will be added early this year: The 1837 Rebellion Society and the Upper Canada Society. The OGS has announced a design competition for certificate designs for the two new Heritage Societies. A prize of $500.00 will be awarded for each winning certificate designer. Competitions close March 31 2010. The winners will be announced at the Society's Annual Conference, May 14-16, 2010. Details are available on the Heritage Societies page of the OGS website.
