New Archives of Ontario Building Opens April 2, 2009 Published: 02 March 2009 By: Rick Roberts, Biography & Archived Articles The Archives of Ontario is opening its new, purpose-built facility in north Toronto on April 2nd at 8:30am. The old building at 77 Grenville St., in downtown Toronto will close for its final time at 5:00pm on Thursday, March 26th. The new address for the Archives of Ontario is:

According to the Archive`s announcement "The Archives’ new home is purpose-built, which will mean several key improvements to our services, as well as increased access for our customers. These improved services include a much larger reading room, the addition of several audio-visual booths, and more computer stations and microfilm readers for researchers. There is also a classroom for public programming and an exhibit space for public viewing of original documents". Being located at York University, the new Archives of Ontario building is well served by existing public and commercial transit.
