New York Inbound Passenger Lists 1820-1846
Column published: 02 December 2006
By: Rick Roberts,   Biography & Archived Articles

19th century Bark Many visitors to our Campbellville store ask how to go about accessing early USA passenger arrival lists on microfilm. This article provides the microfilm numbers for passenger lists of ships arriving at New York between 1820 - 1846, plus links to known online sources. American legislation required that accurate inbound passenger records be recorded beginning in 1820. Most of the early records survive and have been microfilmed for easy access. Both the US National Archives microfilm numbers and the LDS Family History Library microfilm numbers are provided here.
