Article Published January 26, 2006 A Skeleton in a Tree By: Rick Roberts, Global Genealogy & History Shoppe You hear the most amazing stories when you work in a genealogy & history bookstore! Ken Marshall shared an especially interesting one with us while shopping at our store earlier this month. He came across the story while searching for family history in the February 18, 1898 issue of the Madoc Review newspaper. Madoc is a village in eastern Ontario, near the intersections of highway 62 and highway 7. Image of the original article: ![]() I found an online reference to a Toshomingo in Johnston County, Oklahoma, USA. Also a Toshomingo County in Mississippi. However, neither of these places are listed in the 2006 Geo Location database for American place names. That may mean that the name has been changed since 1898.
