BOOK - Pontiac County Protestant Baptisms, Marriages and Burials 1864-1911, St. George's, St. Stephen's & St. Mathew's Anglican Churches.
By Dawn Murphy

Hardcover Edition

Book-on-CD Edition

This book consists of information extracted from microfiche records of Anglican circuit riders and churches from Pontiac County Quebec. Pontiac County is located on the Ottawa River upstream (north-west) from the present day cities of Ottawa & Hull, and situated opposite Renfrew and Lanark counties in Ontario. Pontiac settlers included a significant number of protestant immigrants, many of which attended the Anglican churches of St. Georges, St. Stephen's and St. Mathew's. Many of the family names contained in this book will be familiar to those who have researched families in adjoining Ontario counties of Lanark and Renfrew insofar as there was a great deal of migration between these three counties.

Baptism transcriptions include: Surname, Given Name, Father, Occupation, Residence (township), Mother, Birth Date, Minister, Witnesses, Microfiche Number.

Marriage transcriptions include: Groom Surname, First Name, Residence (township), Bride, Residence of Bride (township), Date, minister, Groom's Parents, Bride's Parents, Witnesses, Microfiche Number.

Burial transciptions include: Surname, First Name, Parents, Spouce, Age, Date of Death, Burial Date, Minister, Cemetery, Other, Witnesses, Microfiche Number.

This publication contains an exceptional index! Ms. Murphy created an index which is not only an alphabetical listing of names and the pages that those names appear on, she also constructed a "summary" of life events of each person included in the text including: Surname, Given Names, Birth Date, Baptism Date, Death Date, Burial Date, Page Numbers.

The book is beautifully hard-bound in a durable and attractive Navy Tanotex covering with gilt stamping on front cover and spine.
