The Reverend Ernest M. Taylor created two volumes of history of Brome County and family sketches of the people who called Brome their home. The first volume was published in 1908. The author had intended to have the second volume ready soon after, "however, various matters occassioned the delay", not the least being the challenge of accumulating the histories of failies who settled in teh county pior to 1850. That second volume was published 29 years later in 1937. These works have been valued by historians and genealogists ever since. Both volumes include carefully prepared text that offers valuable insights into the early settlement and development of the County of Brome
