Originally Published 1887 by the Welland Tribune Printing House, this 2003 historical reprint includes a new every-name index.

The book contains a detailed history of early Welland County, however genealogists will be delighted with the many family and personal sketches of the early settlers of the region.

Welland County was settled by United Empire Loyalists and others, during and after the American Revolutionary War. This book's emphasis is on the one hundred year time frame before 1887.
