This book is a transcription of memorial stone engravings in The Old & New St. Andrews West and MacMillan Cemeteries in Cornwall and Finch Townships in the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, Ontario, Canada.St. Andrews West, the oldest parish in the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry in Ontario, is located in Cornwall Township, in Stormont. The church and its congregation have strong ties to the early history of the province. In fact, the Parish Hall was used as a hospital in the War of 1812. The St. Andrews Church building, as it stands today, was built in 1860. It in the Gothic style, featuring a lofty bell tower and spire. The recreated ‘Log Church’ is a replica of one of the first Catholic churches in Upper Canada. The first settlers to the parish arrived in the 1780s from New York state. Rev. Roderick MacDonell of Leek arrived from Scotland in 1785. The majority of early settlers to the parish were United Empire Loyalists and others seeking asylum in British North America (Canada) after the American Revolution. One of the largest groups to settle were members of the K.R.R.N.Y. (Kings Royal Regiment of New York). Contents include:
