Books, Maps & Other Resources
Peel County, Ontario Genealogy & History More Canadian Resources | More Ontario Resources More Peel County Resources BOOK - Early Churches of Toronto Township in Peel County (Mississauga) Resource and Record Locations By: Trudy Mann.
Most people doing research into a church's history and it's records often know the area or community when looking for information. This is why I have decided to list communities alphabetically. The approximate location of each is according to the 1877 Walker and Miles Atlas of Peel County which is available in most Libraries. As well, the author has given present central street names for that particular area. History of the names of these communities has been taken from the Town and Villiage series in the William Perkins Bull Collection at the Peel Archives.Hopfully accompanying maps will allow the reader to equate the old system of concessions, designated by Roman numberals, and lot numbers to the present main roads. The author has noted a couple of major changes that have taken place since the Atlas was published in Toronto such as the Toronto International Airport and Highways 410 and 401. Soft Cover, Coil Bound, 92pgs
