BOOK - Lynch's Directory of the County of Peel for 1873-4.

John Lynch was born in 1798 in Goreham, Vermont, the son of David Lynch of Cork, Ireland. He moved to the Town of Niagara, then to Chinguacousy where he farmed till 1832 and operated a brewery until 1839.

Lynch published his Directory of the County of Peel in 1974. Unlike many directories of the time it does not appear to have been by subscription but included "the names of all persons on the assessment rolls for 1873, in the townships and villages in the County". It is also, as far as can be determined, the only complete directory for Peel County. This is the first complete reprint of the Directory since 1874. The Brampton Public Library Board published the Brampton section of the directory as a centennial project in 1973.
