Very few places in Ontario have a longer history of settlement by Europeans than the areas around the Bay of Quinte, the six townships settled by the United Empire Loyalists in 1784. Two Centuries in Hayburn is a record of a section of South Fredericksburgh Township from the time of the land grants from the Crown to U.E.L. pioneers settlers to some of the recent owners of parts of those properties.
