The author made use of a wide range of resources to write this history of Sillsville, including Land Registry records, Census records and other public sources of information. He also used the diary of John Wesley Hough for the time period between 1885-1905, and also his scrap books.
The author specifically apologizes for being 'unnecessarily detailed', however researchers will appreciate the abundance of information available in this book.
