Originally published in Glasgow, Scotland in 1821, we are very fortunate that Canadian Heritage Publications saw fit to compile this Facsimile Edition in 1978. Even the original fold out map of The Townships, Upper Canada from Montreal on the St. Lawrence to Lake Ontario has been reproduced and included.

This book is filled with first hand accounts and observations of those brave pioneers who set out from Scotland to a new life in the wilds of early Upper Canada.
