Index To The The Ontario Genealogical Society's Bulletin 1962 - 1970& Families 1971 - 1997: Selected Subjects
by Roger W. Reid, U.E.

The Ontario Genealogical Society is the largest family history society in Canada. Its quarterly publication - called the Bulletin until it was renamed Families in 1971 - contains an invaluable collection of important genealogical material. Over the thirty five years covered by this index you'll find everything from cemetery and church register transcriptions, lists of Ontario residents at home and in other parts of the world, articles explaining the use of government records, stories of individuals and Ontario families, and a fascinating picture of genealogical practices as they progressed from index cards to computers.

This index organizes the hundreds of Bulletin and Families articles into forty-five "Selected Subject" groupings, so you can easily browse all the titles on a particular topic. A separate "Authors" section allows you to follow the writings of an individual contributor.

Compiled over several years, the Index is published here for the first time as a single consolidated volume - and an important new tool for genealogists.

The author, Roger W. Reid, U.E. a long time member of The Ontario Genealogical Society and the United Empire Loyalists' Association of Canada, lives in Whitby, Ontario, and traces his own Ontario roots back to the late eighteenth century. With this book Roger carries on the genealogical publishing tradition of his father, William D, Reid, author of Loyalists In Ontario (Hunterdon House 1973), Marriage Notices of Ontario and Death Notices of Ontario (Hunterdon House 1980).
