Grenville County, Ontario has a rich history. The various historical plaques that have been erected across the county identify the people, places, and events that have shaped this area. This book focuses on the town of Prescott and the Townships of Augusta and Edwardsburgh/Cardinal in Grenville County, and is meant to make people more aware of local history and to give a sense of pride in the accomplishments of local settlers and residents.

Historical plaques have been placed by many differnet different groups including the Ontario Heritage Trust, the Historic Sites and Monuments Board, historical societies, municipalities, businesses, individuals, and other private and public institutions.

The plaques are usually placed at a location that is closely associated with the subject being marked, making it worth taking the time to read the markers and learn about local history of Grenville County.

Each plaque is transcribed with a colour picture and description of when the plaque was erected, where it is, and which organization erected it. Other related pictures orf artifacts, places and people are included with descriptive captions. The entire book is printed in full colour.
