BOOKS - The Lanark Era - Births, Marriages and Deaths 1895 to 1939
Transcribed by Peter E. Andersen
Published by Global Heritage Press, Milton, 1998-2015

Hardcover Edition
7.5 X 10.25"

Book-on-CD Edition

These four volumes contain transcriptions of births, marriages and deaths transcribed from original newspapers and microfilm of surviving issues of The Lanark Era from 1895 to 1939. Also included are accounts of returning First World War soldiers, and many who did not return. The Lanark Era did an excetionaljob of publishing information about early local families and also reported on many who migrated beyond Lanark County.

When volumes one and two were compiled, it was thought that several issues were permanently lost. Five years later, copies of the "missing issues" were discovered in a private collection that had been assembled from auction sale buys over several decades. That collector contibuted his collection which enabled Anderson to transcribe the third book in the series -- "The Missing Years". The fourth volume was completed in 2015. The volumes in the series contain information about more than 50,000 individuals.

The untold hours that Peter E. Andersen invested to compile this massive work resulted in a comprehensive reference tool that is invaluable for everyone researching families with roots in Lanark County.
